Rose Lover's Paradise

A plein air painting that began in this lovely garden during an outdoor painting workshop I taught last summer.  I set up my paints in the shade of a large tree to drink in this beautiful day.

Congratulations Student Winners!

Congratulations to my students who won oil painting awards at the annual ACC Student/Instructor Art Show for Community Education!   Nancy Hubbard (shown on the right) won First Place in the Painting Category for her Still Life Painting.  David Shantz won Third Place for his oil painting of Aspen Trees.

The juror was Rachel Basye, Executive Director of the Art Students League of Denver.  The show runs through June 26th at the Colorado Gallery of the Arts, at Arapahoe Community College.  Call the Community Education office (303-797-5722) for hours and directions.

I loved painting this woman.  The yellow background light and bright colors in her clothing are all reflected in her lovely, dark skin tones.
