Description:

For Intermediate to Advanced students. (Beginners see *Note below).

The focus is on Realism and Impressionistic painting styles and is designed to build on your foundation of painting concepts and techniques.  Whatever your skill level, you can fill in information you may have missed from other classes and grow to the next level of your artistic development.  Because this class is small, I work with you individually to help you achieve your personal artistic goals.  Instruction includes a variety of painting approaches, including Old Master approaches, Alla Prima and Plein Air techniques.   We cover topics such as designing your own composition, advanced color theory, painting faster, portraiture, and many others, often suggested by the class.

Tuesdays, 1:00 – 4:00 pm

Tuition:   Monthly Rate:  $130.00 per month 
                  Drop-in rate:  $44.00 per class (with advance reservation, if space is available)

*Note: This class is for students who have attended my previous studio classes, my Beginning-Intermediate Oil Painting Classes at Arapahoe Community College, or who can demonstrate comparable skills from other recognized art training.  If you are a beginner, or are self-taught, new to oils, or haven’t painted for many years, you will want to begin with one of the Thursday ACC classes to fill in important information you may be missing.  Then you can switch to this class as soon as we both feel you are ready.   If you aren’t certain, let’s talk to find the right fit for you.  I want you to have the best experience possible.  For information about my ACC classes, click on the tab at the top of this page.

Your progress depends on your commitment to regular attendance in class. As with other college level classes, we don't allow for makeup classes or refunds. However, if you must miss a class occasionally, you will still save over the drop-in rate.  Class size is limited to give you plenty of personal attention.
